Richie Madyira hails from Zimbabwe and was born in 1989. Madyira was granted a scholorhip by British American Tobacco to study at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, where he graduated in 2007 with a Diploma in Fine Arts.
Richie’s colourful paintings are predominantly figurative.
The artist’s work is rooted in his lived experience. He tackles themes such as the living condition in the poorest community to the hardships he experienced as a child, and subsequently as an immigrant – in his visual storytelling.
