John Botham

John Botham was born in South Africa in 1963 from Polish decent. He currently lives in Somerset West.

Having had schooling background in the arts John went on to get his Bachelor of Fine Arts (with honours) at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. He then went on to London to study speech and drama as well as TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).

After sharing his talent, knowledge and experience in both art and drama with various students, both in South Africa and England he decided to start painting professionally in 2002.

He is a dedicated painter, who spends most of his day in the studio finding vistas that inspire him. He works only with oil paint. John has had numerous solo exhibitions throughout South Africa, and participates in group exhibitions regularly. He attends the Grahamstown National Arts festival annually and has a dedicated following in especially the Eastern Cape.

John has also been commissioned by wine estates, theatres for stage and costume designs as well as various game lodges.
