Hendrik Botha Fourie

Born in 1988, Hendrik is a self-taught artist that has been developing his craft since 2015, his observation of nature has influenced his art from the start. Preferred medium of oil paint, landscapes are a favourite subject matter for the artist with his most recent works focussing on impasto landscapes that reflect the textures and colours of the Cape floral kingdom. Hendrik has also produced abstract works and multimedia “assembled” oil painting as well as a small selection of still lives and surrealist works.
His works feature bold brush strokes and thickly applied paint that allows form to shift with the observer, morphing perception between abstraction and realism, immersing the viewer in an alternative yet familiar expression of reality.
